Offer Overview
The Offer Page on SocialSwap allows users to either make an offer on a listing or buy it directly. Below is a detailed explanation of how each scenario works:
Scenario 1: Make an Offer
Initiating an Offer:
A buyer can make an offer to the seller for their listing.
If the seller accepts the offer, the buyer can then proceed to make the payment to escrow.
Payment and Escrow:
Upon payment, the money is removed from the buyer's balance and placed in the buyer's reserved balance.
The escrow process is initiated with two types of escrow: Manual and Automatic which can be set from the admin settings.
Manual Escrow:
The buyer must wait for the expiry time set by the admin to elapse.
If the escrow is pending and the seller has not submitted any information, the buyer can cancel.
If the seller has submitted the information but there's an issue, seller submits incorrect information, the buyer can open a dispute.
The seller can also open a dispute if buyer refuses to confirm information
Automatic Escrow:
If the seller has not submitted any information by the expiry time, the escrow is automatically canceled.
The buyer will get a refund if the escrow time has expired and it is still pending.
If the offer is declined, no further action is needed.
Seller's Action:
When the payment is escrowed, the seller receives a notification.
The seller needs to submit the account information in the escrow section.
Buyer's Confirmation:
The buyer checks the submitted information.
The buyer can either confirm the information or open a dispute.
Once confirmed, the money is released to the seller, and the buyer's reserved balance is deducted.
Buy the Listing Directly
Direct Purchase:
The buyer can buy the listing directly without making an offer.
The purchase goes to escrow automatically, following the same process as described above (manual or automatic).
Additional Rules
Listing Restrictions:
Once a listing is in escrow or has an accepted offer, other users cannot make an offer or buy it until the current transaction is approved or declined.
If a listing is in dispute, it is not available for purchase.
Multiple Offers:
A listing can have multiple offers but only one active escrow and one active dispute at a time.
CRON Job Configuration
Final Step:
Configure the CRON job correctly. Refer to the CRON tab on the left-side menu of this documentation for a step-by-step guide on configuring the CRON job.
By following these steps, users will be able to navigate the Listing functionality effectively. If you encounter any challenges, please reach out for support.
